Frank Pais Orthopedic Hospital has an area of 10 hectares. It is the largest and most comprehensive hospital complex in the world dedicated to orthopedic, trauma, reconstructive, and rehabilitative surgery of the osteomioarticular system, in addition to being the home of the Latin American School of Orthopedics and Traumatology.
It is located in the municipality of La Lisa, Havana, where people come from all over the world to receive treatments.
This center is led by Prof. Rodrigo Alvarez Cambras, MD, PhD, an eminent Cuban scientist with large experience accumulated in the field of orthopedics. He works with a multidisciplinary team of high scientific and ethical level, giving a rapid and effective recovery to patients in multiple conditions.
With the application of the modern technique of external fixation, exclusive of Cuban orthopedics, and other accessories made in the hospital, this institution provides treatments for deformities of the spine, bone and soft tissue tumors, peripheral and paraplegic paralysis, rheumatic disorders and injuries of all kinds, neurological and osteomioarticular disorders, and any post-operative rehabilitation that the patient requires. The Center of Sports Traumatology is among the successes of this hospital.
